Teaching Personnel would love to hear from you. We are currently seeking to recruit a reliable and proactive SRB Teaching Assistant to work in a Primary School in the centre of Cardiff.

The position will be full-time, starting in May 2026 with the possibility to be extended for the full academic year ending in July 2026 and potentially longer.

The ideal candidate will be confident working with children with a range of Additional Learning Needs (ALN), including social, emotional, and behavioural needs, as well as learning difficulties.

You will be required to provide tailored support within the school's Special Resource Base (SRB), helping pupils access learning in a structured and supportive environment.

You will work closely with the class teacher and SENCo to support individual learning plans, assist with daily classroom activities, and help create a positive and inclusive atmosphere.

Strong communication skills are essential, along with the ability to deliver targeted interventions on both a 1:1 basis and in small groups.

Flexibility and adaptability are key, as you will be supporting children with varying needs, ensuring each child receives the appropriate level of care and guidance to support their development.

Main Duties
  • Providing tailored support within the SRB to meet a range of ALN needs.
  • Working on a 1:1 basis and supporting individual learning and behavioural needs.
  • Delivering targeted intervention work with individuals and small groups.
  • Supporting pupils with emotional regulation and social development.
  • Assisting the teacher with classroom preparation and structured activities.
  • Building professional relationships with children, staff, and parents in the school.

The school is based in the centre of Cardiff and is a two-form entry.

The school is looking for an experienced Teaching Assistant to join their friendly team who will bring a positive attitude to the class.

You will receive continuous support and feedback, and the ideal candidate will be enthusiastic and reliable, whilst wanting to provide a positive and safe learning environment for the children.
