Teaching Personnel are currently recruiting for a 1:1 Teaching Assistant to support pupils with additional needs in a welcoming primary school in Cardiff. This role is ideal for someone who is confident, patient, and genuinely passionate about supporting children with additional learning needs. You’ll play a key role in helping pupils develop their confidence, independence and engagement in school life.

Experience with ALN is desirable, but not essential.

The Role:

Provide consistent 1:1 support to a child with behavioural or social‑emotional needs.

Help create a safe, nurturing and engaging classroom environment.
Use a patient, proactive and enthusiastic approach to support learning and behaviour.
Work closely with the class teacher and wider team, maintaining strong communication.
Follow the school’s policies, safeguarding procedures and behaviour strategies.
Requirements

Experience in a primary school or working with children is desirable — but not essential for the right person.
A genuine passion for supporting children’s learning, confidence and development.
Enhanced Child Workforce DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).
Willingness to complete all required safeguarding and training modules.
A Valid UK Driving License is ideal – but not essential.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
