Cardiff Metropolitan University is hiring a University Tennis Co‑ordinator to support the growth and development of student tennis at Cardiff Metropolitan University.
This is an exciting developmental opportunity for a recent graduate who wishes to pursue a career in tennis. The role combines fully funded part‑time postgraduate study with hands‑on tennis coaching and development within a leading higher education sport environment.
Based primarily at the Cyncoed Campus, the successful candidate will work closely with the Head of Tennis, the Students’ Union, Tennis Wales and the LTA to increase participation, enhance competition opportunities and deliver an outstanding student tennis experience.
The post is offered on a fixed‑term basis until July 2028, working 15 hours per week.
What you’ll bringYou will have a strong understanding of the tennis industry, including club environments, qualifications and competition structures, alongside an understanding of BUCS Tennis. You will be able to play tennis to a standard appropriate for university competitive play, contributing confidently to both participation and performance settings.
In addition, you will value inclusive practice and trusted relationships, understanding how to engage and communicate effectively with participants, obtain feedback and support the safe enjoyment of tennis activities. You will be able to plan and deliver inclusive, effective sessions that meet the needs of a diverse student population, positively influencing students by leading by example and fostering a supportive club culture.
Required qualifications and commitments:
- Evidence of current enrolment, or planned enrolment, on a Master’s programme at Cardiff Metropolitan University.
- An LTA‑accredited tennis coaching qualification (minimum Level
1), with a commitment to work towards Level 2 within 6–12 months.
- Annual leave of 25 days, rising to 30 days after 1 year’s service, plus 12 bank holiday / concessionary days.
- Membership of the Local Government Pension Scheme with generous monthly contributions.

- Excellent sports and fitness facilities with subsidised membership.
- Free family access to independent specialist wellbeing support provider, Health Assured.
