Teaching Assistants Required - Autism Base within Mainstream Secondary School

Location: CardiffSalary: £93-£98 per dayContract: Full-Time and Part-Time Positions Available

Teaching Personnel is seeking dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistants to support students within an Autism Base located in a mainstream secondary school in Cardiff.

This rewarding role involves working closely with pupils aged 11-16 who have Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), helping them access learning, develop social skills, and achieve their individual goals in a supportive educational environment.

Experience with children or adults with ASC is necessary for this role.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide one-to-one and small group support for students with autism.

  • Assist teachers in delivering engaging and inclusive learning activities.

  • Support students with communication, emotional regulation, and social interaction.

  • Help create a positive, structured, and nurturing learning environment.

  • Encourage independence and confidence both inside and outside the classroom.

Requirements:
  • Previous experience supporting children or adults with autism is essential.

  • A patient, empathetic, and adaptable approach.

  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.

  • A genuine passion for supporting individuals with additional learning needs.

  • Relevant qualifications are desirable but not essential.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
