Salary: £25,833.74 - £28,038 per annum pro rata (Based on FTE of £29,874 - £32,423 per annum)
In addition, we also have a fixed‑term position available for candidates who may be interested in a temporary opportunity.
About the RoleTo support learners with essential skills, study skills and wellbeing needs, enabling them to complete their college journey and progress into further study or employment. The role involves delivering high‑quality support on a one‑to‑one and group basis, while working collaboratively with curriculum teams to enhance student engagement, retention and achievement.
Key Responsibilities- Provide support to learners in literacy, numeracy, digital skills, ESOL, study skills and wellbeing
- Deliver targeted sessions and one‑to‑one support across a range of settings including in‑class and drop‑in environments
- Monitor and track learner progress, supporting those at risk of disengagement
- Support the delivery and administration of the Wales Essential Skills Toolkit (WEST)
- Provide wellbeing support, including responding to safeguarding concerns and supporting vulnerable learners
- Work collaboratively with curriculum teams and external agencies to support learner success
- Contribute to student engagement activities, KPIs and continuous improvement
- You are passionate about supporting learners to succeed and overcome barriers to learning
- You have experience working in a supportive, pastoral or skills‑based role
- You are organised, proactive and able to manage a varied workload
- You communicate effectively and build positive relationships with learners and colleagues
- You are adaptable, with a flexible and learner‑focused approach
Registration with the Educational Workforce Council for Wales (EWC Wales) is a mandatory requirement of the post.
