Salary: £26,389 - £51,934 per annum dependent on experience

About the role

We are seeking an enthusiastic and committed Public Services Lecturer to join our high‑performing Sport, Public Services and Tourism department.

This is an exciting opportunity to deliver engaging and innovative teaching across a range of Public Services programmes. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of the sector and the ability to inspire learners through both classroom‑based and practical delivery.

You will contribute to a dynamic team focused on delivering high‑quality learning experiences, supporting learner success, and preparing students for progression into public service careers or further study.

Key responsibilities
  • Deliver high‑quality teaching, learning and assessment across Public Services provision
  • Plan and deliver engaging lessons, including practical sessions and blended/online learning
  • Act as a Course Tutor, supporting student progress, achievement and wellbeing
  • Monitor and track learner performance, identifying and supporting individual needs
  • Design and develop learning materials across Levels 1-3 (and potentially HE provision)
  • Contribute to curriculum development and continuous improvement
  • Support educational visits, placements, field trips and enrichment activities
  • Work collaboratively as part of a high‑performing team
About you
  • Holds a relevant degree in a Public Services or related subject area
  • Has experience working within a public service sector environment
  • Has experience delivering and assessing within an education or training setting
  • Holds a teaching qualification (or is willing to work towards one)
  • Is passionate about supporting learner progress and achievement
  • Demonstrates creativity and innovation in teaching and learning
  • Can work collaboratively and contribute positively to team performance

Welsh language skills are desirable but not essential
