Job Overview
This post is regulated work with Children and/or Protected Adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidate will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check. If you have spent a continuous period of 3 months or more outside the UK in the last 5 years, an Overseas Criminal Record Check will also be required.
A confirmed offer of employment and commencement in the post will be subject to the outcome of both checks being deemed satisfactory.
Salary for this post will be in accordance with SNCT agreements. Applicants must be or eligible to be fully GTC Scotland registered. If you qualified as a Teacher outside Scotland, please visit GTCS - Qualified Outside Scotland and review the GTCS FAQs for more information around obtaining registration with the General Teaching Council Scotland.
Responsibilities- Develop and implement engaging learning programmes tailored to pupils with additional support needs, ensuring meaningful learning experiences.
- Deliver inclusive and high‑quality education, providing strategies that motivate and inspire pupils.
- Foster and build meaningful relationships with pupils, helping to develop their confidence, resilience and engagement in learning.
- Promote positive outcomes and wider achievement, encouraging personal growth and success in all learners.
- Passion for making a difference to the lives of children and young people with additional support needs.
- Ability to create motivating and engaging learning environments that empower pupils to succeed.
- Experience or strong interest in Complex Additional Support Needs (ASN).
- Eligibility to be fully GTC Scotland registered.
- Willingness to comply with PVG and Overseas Criminal Record Check requirements.

This is a great opportunity for part‑time staff with experience or a strong interest in Complex ASN to join an established team meeting the needs of learners aged 5‑18. We are looking for team members to job‑share with very experienced teachers and provide some McCrone cover. Days can be flexible for the right candidates.
