HLTA, Elementary School, Education ​/ Teaching

New Directions are seeking dedicated, flexible and enthusiastic Higher Level Teaching Assistants (HLTA) to cover on a supply basis in supportive and inclusive schools based in Cardiff. The successful candidate will be responsible for covering across KS1 and KS2 classes.

• HLTA or Level 4 qualification.
• Experience working with children in an educational setting.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
• Good organisational and time-management skills.

• Support teaching and learning across a range of subjects and age groups.
• Plan and deliver learning activities for individuals, small groups, and whole classes.
• Provide cover for teachers during planned absences.
• Monitor and assess pupil progress and provide feedback to teaching staff.
• Support pupils with diverse learning needs and promote inclusion.
• Contribute to the development of a positive and engaging learning environment.
• Assist with behaviour management in line with school policies.
