The School of Earth and Environmental Sciences at Cardiff University is a dynamic and successful multi-disciplinary centre devoted to education and research in the disciplines of geoscience and geography. We are seeking to appoint a fixed-term Teacher in Sedimentology and Sedimentary Systems. You should share our passion for high quality interdisciplinary education and scholarship and be able to contribute to a range of undergraduate and postgraduate teaching in Earth and Environmental Sciences, including supervision of undergraduate and masters thesis students.
The successful candidate will be required to deliver education and scholarship contributions in the areas of sedimentology and sedimentary systems. We encourage applicants who can teach and inspire learning that embraces sedimentology, and topics such as sedimentary facies analysis and geodynamics. In addition, you would be expected to contribute to residential Earth Science field courses, local day field trips, seminars, team work and project work supervision.

The position is full-time (35 hours per week), available from the 1st September 2026 and is fixed-term for 6 months. The appointments will be made, dependent on relevant qualification and experience within salary band £41,064 - £46,049 per annum (Grade
6).
