The Opportunity

We have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and organised colleague to join the Learning & Development team as an L&D Co-ordinator on a 14 month fixed term maternity cover opportunity expected to commence in September.

This is a role for someone who is passionate about learning and development and wants to play an active part in helping colleagues build the knowledge, skills and confidence they need to deliver excellent services to our residents and customers.

Learning and Development at the WWHG is evolving. We are moving beyond simply organising training and are increasingly focused on enabling learning, building capability and helping colleagues access the right development opportunities. As part of this journey, we are looking for someone who is naturally curious, enjoys solving problems and wants to make a positive contribution to the way learning is delivered across the Group.

Who

are we looking for?

We are looking for someone who combines excellent organisation and coordination skills with a genuine interest in learning and development.

You will be comfortable managing a varied workload, balancing competing priorities and supporting multiple learning activities at the same time. You will be highly organised, proactive and able to use your judgement to determine what needs attention and when.

We are looking for someone who enjoys working with people and building positive relationships across the organisation. Strong communication skills are essential, particularly the ability to listen, ask thoughtful questions and understand what colleagues need rather than simply responding to requests at face value.

You will be naturally curious and comfortable using information, data and insight to help inform decisions. We are not looking for someone who simply follows a process. We are looking for someone who takes ownership, uses initiative, challenges constructively where appropriate and is motivated to improve the quality and effectiveness of the service we provide.

A good level of digital confidence is important. You will be working with a range of systems, learning platforms, reports and data, so you will need to be comfortable using technology and learning new systems.

Most importantly, we are looking for someone who is enthusiastic about helping others learn and develop and who wants to contribute to a culture of continuous learning and improvement.

What will you be doing?

Working closely with colleagues, managers, learning providers and the wider People & Culture team, you will coordinate learning and development activity across the Group and help ensure colleagues have access to effective learning opportunities.

Your work will include:

  • Coordinating learning events, programmes and development activities across a variety of topics and business areas.
  • Managing bookings, scheduling, learner communications, attendance records, learning resources and provider and facility arrangements.
  • Supporting colleagues and managers with learning enquiries and helping them access appropriate learning opportunities.
  • Maintaining accurate learning records and supporting compliance with mandatory and essential learning requirements.
  • Producing reports and using learning data to support decisions, identify trends and highlight opportunities for improvement.
  • Supporting the effective use and ongoing development of learning systems and digital learning resources.
  • Helping to ensure learning materials, resources and information remain accurate, relevant and accessible.
  • Gathering feedback, identifying opportunities for improvement, and contributing to the ongoing development of the Learning & Development service.
  • Promoting a positive learning culture that encourages curiosity, personal responsibility and continuous development.
  • Supporting learning activities and events where required, including occasional facilitation of information-sharing or learning sessions.

This is a varied role that combines coordination, communication, problem-solving, and continuous improvement. It is an opportunity to make a real contribution to how learning is experienced across WWHG and how it supports our organisational priorities and…
