Location: Cardiff
Hours: 8:30am - 3:30pm, Monday to Friday (Term-Time Only)
Pay:£120 per day paid on a weekly basis PAYE
Start Date:2nd of September 2026

Teaching Personnel is offering the chance to step into the classroom as a Trainee Learning Support Assistant - no previous school experience required just transferable skills & a passion for education!

As a Trainee Learning Support Assistant, you'll make a real difference by supporting secondary school pupils (aged 11-18), including those with Additional Learning Needs (ALN) such as:

• Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)
• ADHD
• Dyslexia
• Social, emotional, and behavioural difficulties

Your role will involve:

• Providing one-to-one and small group support
• Assisting students in lessons across a variety of subjects
• Encouraging inclusion and promoting positive behaviour

Essential qualities:

• A genuine interest in supporting young people
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• A proactive, positive approach to learning and development
• Willingness to complete essential training (fully funded)
• Ability to pass an enhanced DBS check (support provided)

• Ongoing guidance from a dedicated recruitment consultant
• Free accredited training in safeguarding, SEN, and behaviour management
• Trial placement in a local secondary school to gain hands-on experience

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
