Teaching Assistant – Secondary Schools

New Directions Education is recruiting enthusiastic and dedicated Secondary Teaching Assistants to work in schools across Cardiff
. We have flexible opportunities available, including day-to-day supply, short-term assignments and long-term placements, with both full-time and part-time roles available.

As a Secondary Teaching Assistant, you will:

• Support students across Key Stages 3 and 4 within the classroom.
• Provide 1:1 and small group support to help pupils reach their full potential.
• Work alongside teachers to deliver engaging lessons and adapt learning where needed.
• Support students with Additional Learning Needs (ALN), including ASD, ADHD, Speech & Language and Social, Emotional & Mental Health (SEMH) needs.
• Encourage positive behaviour and help create a safe, inclusive learning environment.
• Assist with classroom preparation and general learning support.

• Experience working with young people in a school, youth work, sports coaching, mentoring or similar setting.
• A patient, resilient and proactive approach.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
• The ability to work collaboratively as part of a school team.
• A Teaching Assistant qualification is desirable but not essential.
