Cardiff and Vale College is looking for a passionate and proactive ESOL Engagement Officer to support learners studying English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL).

This is a rewarding opportunity to help learners overcome barriers to education, build confidence and achieve their goals. Working across College campuses and within the community, you will play a key role in improving learner engagement, attendance and wellbeing.

What You'll Do
  • Support learners who may be at risk of disengaging from their studies.
  • Build positive relationships with learners, staff and external partners.
  • Deliver targeted interventions to improve attendance and retention.
  • Promote learner wellbeing and access to support services.
  • Organise activities that encourage engagement, confidence and success.
About You
  • Experience supporting learners or individuals whose first language is not English.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
  • A proactive and organised approach to supporting others.
  • An understanding of the challenges that can impact learner engagement and wellbeing.
  • A passion for helping people achieve their potential.
Additional Information

This position is offered on a fixed-term basis in line with the current funding arrangements for the programme. Ending in 2nd July 2027.

Employment with Cardiff and Vale College is also subject to satisfactory references. Before employment can commence, the College must receive two references, one of which must be from your current or most recent employer. Referees will be contacted following appointment.
