About the role

The following is an advert for a position where the ability to work and converse through the medium of Welsh is essential.

This fixed-term role is expected to commence between early and mid January 2027 to cover a period of maternity leave.

The Governors of Rhydypennau Community School are keen to appoint a motivated and dedicated individual who will be responsible for maintaining and raising pupil standards. Rhydypennau is a happy and successful school with over 200 pupils on roll. The successful candidate will have a strong knowledge and understanding of the principles of the Curriculum for Wales, and the ability to contribute towards the leadership of specific learning areas and experience of the curriculum.

The ability to communicate through Welsh (equivalent to Level 5 in accordance with the ALTE framework in Listening / Talking, Reading and Writing) is essential for this job, and the ability and enthusiasm to contribute to extra-curricular activities would be beneficial. The successful candidate will be expected to collaborate effectively with an experienced and dedicated team.

The current post holder teaches in the Year 5 class.
