Grade 7 - £32,061 for 32.5 hours per week term time only for 45.8 weeks per annum equating to £24,737.35 pro rata

32.5 hours per week, term time only (45.8 weeks per annum)

Pembrokeshire Learning Centre is seeking a skilled and compassionate Play Therapist to support children and young people whose emotional wellbeing, life experiences or additional needs may be impacting their learning and development.

About Pembrokeshire Learning Centre

Pembrokeshire Learning Centre (PLC) provides specialist education and support for children and young people across a number of learning provisions throughout Pembrokeshire.

Working closely with mainstream schools, we help learners overcome barriers to education through targeted interventions, flexible learning opportunities and strong pastoral support. Our aim is to help learners build confidence, develop key skills and achieve positive outcomes, whether returning to mainstream education or progressing to further education.

At PLC, relationships are at the heart of everything we do. We work closely with learners, families and partner agencies to ensure every child has the opportunity to thrive.

The Role

As Play Therapist, you will support children and young people experiencing emotional, behavioural and social challenges.

Using play and creative therapeutic approaches, including storytelling, art and sand play, you will help learners process trauma, build emotional resilience and overcome barriers to learning.

We Are Looking For Someone Who:
  • Holds (or is working towards) a recognised Play Therapy qualification and registration with PTUK, BAPT or an equivalent professional body.
  • Has experience working therapeutically with children and young people.
  • Has a strong understanding of child development, attachment, trauma-informed practice and emotional wellbeing.
  • Can build positive relationships with children, families and professionals
  • Is committed to safeguarding and improving outcomes for vulnerable learners.
