Are you creative, organised, and passionate about supporting the delivery of Art within a secondary school setting? Aspire People are currently recruiting for an Art Technician to join a welcoming and supportive secondary school in Cardiff with an immediate start available.
This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in a busy Art department, helping teachers deliver engaging practical lessons while ensuring resources, equipment, and displays are prepared to a high standard.
The Role- Immediate start available
- Full-time, long-term opportunity in a welcoming Cardiff secondary school
- Competitive rate of pay - £16.11 per hour
- Prepare, organise, and maintain art materials, tools, and equipment for lessons
- Support teachers with practical classroom activities and demonstrations
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organised Art department environment
- Assist with mounting, displaying, and storing pupils' artwork
- Monitor stock levels and order materials when required
- Ensure health and safety procedures are followed within workshops and classrooms
- Support the preparation of exhibitions, displays, and school events
- Carry out basic maintenance of specialist art equipment and resources
- £100 sign-up bonus after completing 20 days of work

- Previous experience working within a school, college, art department, or creative environment
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
- Knowledge of art materials, equipment, and classroom safety procedures
Ability to work independently and as part of a team - Registration with the Education Workforce Council (EWC) is desirable or willingness to register
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one
- A proactive and enthusiastic approach to supporting teaching and learning
