Teacher Active is proud to be working with a mainstream secondary school based in Cardiff, supporting pupils with a range of Additional Learning Needs / ALN. The school is committed to providing pupils with the individual support they need to engage positively with their education and school environment.

The school is looking to take on a Learning Support Assistant on a full-time, long-term basis throughout the academic year. The successful Learning Support Assistant will provide classroom and pastoral support to pupils with ALN, including a group of boys who can display challenging behaviour, helping them remain engaged with learning and manage their behaviour effectively.

The successful Learning Support Assistant will have:

Experience supporting children or young people with ALN
Experience working with secondary school aged pupils is desirable
Confidence supporting pupils who can display challenging behaviour
Strong behaviour management and communication skills
A patient and resilient approach
The ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff
