An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the team responsible for supporting Cardiff Council's Climate Emergency response. The Energy and Sustainability team works across the Council to deliver a wide range of projects and initiatives that reduce energy use, lower emissions and support the Council's sustainability ambitions.
Schools are an important part of this work, with significant opportunities to improve energy performance, reduce costs and help build awareness of climate and environmental issues among staff and pupils. This role will play a key part in supporting schools to contribute to these objectives.
About the jobThis post focuses on energy and climate awareness activities to reduce energy use & carbon emissions within Cardiff schools, working both with school employees, students and Council officers.
What We Are Looking For From YouCandidates will ideally have experience of delivering awareness raising activities within a school environment or similar and also have a good working knowledge of energy and climate related environmental issues and building energy issues. Candidates will be able to enthuse employees & students alike, and deliver the energy & carbon reduction message in interesting and effective ways.
The successful applicant will work closely with the other members of the Energy and Sustainability team, as well as key personnel from other directorates, encouraging schools to participate in the various energy & carbon reduction initiatives the team is delivering and where appropriate, assisting in delivering these initiatives.
