Overview

Abatec is proud to be assisting our client, a trusted delivery partner within the Welsh Water Framework, to grow the team so they can meet the demands of several upcoming capital projects across the region.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and coordinate all aspects of design for multiple waste/dirty water projects across the Welsh Water Framework.
  • Manage design teams to ensure timely and budget-conscious delivery of design outputs.
  • Act as the technical interface between Dŵr Cymru Welsh Water and key stakeholders.
  • Ensure designs comply with CDM regulations, Welsh Water specifications, environmental standards, and buildability best practices.
  • Drive design assurance processes including reviews, approvals, and value engineering initiatives.
  • Support tendering and early contractor involvement (ECI) phases where applicable.
Requirements
  • Proven experience in design management of water or wastewater infrastructure (dirty water experience preferred).
  • Strong knowledge of UK water industry standards, particularly those of Dŵr Cymru Welsh Water (DCWW) or similar.
  • Degree-qualified in Civil Engineering or related discipline (or equivalent qualification like HNC or HND).
  • Strong leadership, stakeholder management, and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and design interfaces concurrently.
  • Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel within Wales as needed.
