Rate: £280-£345 per day (CIS)

A leading regional civil engineering contractor is seeking experienced Civil Engineers / Site Engineers to support a major Capital Works programme in South Wales. The business is appointed to a stable, recurring 5‑year AMP framework and is at the start of the AMP8 cycle, offering a rare opportunity to secure a long‑term contract on technically interesting and high‑value infrastructure projects. Due to workload across multiple schemes, multiple roles are available, providing excellent continuity of work within a growing contractor environment.

This is a freelance position with an immediate start, with the option to transition into a permanent role after 3‑6 months if desired.

• Sewage treatment works upgrades and refurbishments
• Large‑scale reinforced concrete structures
• Shaft sinking and deep excavations
• Reservoirs, dams, and storage infrastructure
• Large‑diameter pipeline installations and extensions
• Associated civils, earthworks, and infrastructure packages

• Deliver civil engineering works on major capital projects
• Set out, manage, and oversee construction activities on site
• Ensure works are delivered safely, to specification, and to programme
• Manage subcontractors, QA records, and technical documentation
• Work closely with Project Managers, design teams, and commercial teams
• Support buildability reviews and technical problem‑solving on complex structures and civils works

• Background in water‑biased civils, infrastructure, structures, or heavy civils projects
• Experience delivering RC structures, pipelines, deep excavations, or large infrastructure works
• Comfortable working in a contractor‑led environment on live construction sites
• Strong setting out, technical, and site delivery skills
• Proactive, reliable, and keen to be part of a long‑term framework team

• Excellent freelance rate: £280-£345 per day (CIS)
