Role:
Design Coordinator / Lead Engineer (Mechanical) –
Location:
St. Asaph (Flexible Office/Home Presence) – Rate:
Up to £60 p/h – Outside IR35/LTD Company (DOE) – Duration: 12 Months+ – Sector:

The business we're working with is an award-winning and innovative contractor providing project solutions for the water and wastewater industry, including design, construction, commissioning, operation and maintenance.
The majority of the design packages to work through and sub‑contractors to manage come from an M&E bias.
Key Responsibilities- Understand and agree the client's project requirements.
- Agree levels of resource against the programme.
- Track and monitor design outputs against design deliverables and the project programme.
- Track and monitor design expenditure against cost allowance.
- Produce monthly progress reports.
- Review and collate documents & drawings for both internal governance and client acceptance through the gateway processes.
- Identify requirements for the design of temporary works.
- Monitor and track change control.
- Site visits as required.
- Coordinate the design engineers across all disciplines.
- Produce design briefs, incorporating the requirements of all project needs, including Mechanical, Electrical and Civil interface.
- Produce and review sub‑contractor enquiry documents to enable all design to be incorporated.
- Ensure all disciplines' design are incorporated into the 3D model.
- Report and gain approval for change.
- Produce and collate design cost for individual schemes.
- Confirm that all regulatory standards are adhered to.
- Chair design meetings.
- Ensure the production of all documentation required to manage the project in line with CDM requirements.
- 10 years demonstrated Design Experience in the water/wastewater sector.
- Compilation of weekly/monthly reports as dictated by the project.
- Monitoring of design outputs against the design deliverable schedule, including remedial cause of action as required.
- Experience of working in multidisciplinary teams.
- Experience of managing multiple small projects or single larger projects.
- Industry-applicable Engineering Degree.
- Chartered Engineer preferred or working towards chartership.
