Your Role

As an Associate / Associate Director, you will provide technical leadership to our design and assessment teams, ensuring delivery of quality work on time and within budget. You will lead design teams, mentor junior members, and support project success.

Responsibilities
  • Technical leadership of bridge/civil engineering design and assessment projects in the UK and internationally
  • Conducting project reviews to optimize solutions and coordinate multidisciplinary inputs
  • Managing resources and developing client relationships
  • Negotiating fees and managing project finances
  • Promoting a culture of technical review and challenge
  • Leading tenders and bids, developing client relationships
  • Supervising and mentoring junior team members
About the Team and Location

Our Civil and Bridge Engineering team in Cardiff, Bristol, Exeter, and Truro comprises over 120 professionals. We work on diverse projects across rail and highway sectors, serving clients like HS2, Network Rail, and Local Authorities. Our offices are centrally located with easy access to transport and amenities.

Candidate Requirements

We are looking for a Chartered Civil or Structural Engineer with experience in:

  • Bridge design, maintenance, and assessment from site and office experience
  • Project management of bridge projects
  • Design, maintenance, and supervision of structures, including innovation in bridge management
  • Knowledge of DMRB, MCDHW, Eurocodes, and structural analysis software (LUSAS, Superstress, SAM)
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, adaptability, and team development mindset
