Job Description Overview
Shape a faster, smarter, safer future. As a Technical Lead / Design Manager in our Transportation team, you will play a pivotal role in implementing ideas that shape the future of how we move and collaborate across new build, renewal, maintenance, and assessment works for clients including the Department for Infrastructure, National Transport Authority, Highways England and local authority councils across the UK and Ireland.
Responsibilities- Provide technical guidance on highway infrastructure projects and mentor team members.
- Co‑ordinate with key clients and discuss design/technical solutions with both technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
- Collaborate with Practice Managers to ensure projects are sufficiently resourced and delegated work is programmed, tracked, and completed on time.
- Identify and respond to commercial project risks and opportunities.
- Support the business in winning work by representing the company at networking events, preparing bids and tenders, and building and maintaining relationships with existing and prospective clients.
- Demonstrated experience building and sustaining strong relationships with clients.
- Excellent communication skills and stakeholder engagement ability.
- Proven leadership and ability to motivate cross‑practice teams.
- Hard‑working, flexible, proactive, and capable of working under pressure and tight deadlines.
- Disciplined thinker with analytical, numeracy, and problem‑solving skills and strategic judgment.
- Self‑motivated and able to work independently or as part of a larger multidisciplinary team.

Security ClearanceThis role may require security clearance and offers of employment will be dependent on obtaining the relevant level of clearance. The vetting process is delivered by United Kingdom Security Vetting (UKSV) and may require proof of residency in the UK of 5 years or longer.
