Overview
As Ecosystem Integration Engineering Manager, you will lead a new multi‑disciplinary engineering team spanning hardware, firmware, middleware, apps, and cloud services dedicated to integrating IDT Reader BU products into broader RFID identification ecosystems. The role centers on delivering holistic end‑to‑end system solutions and establishing a technical framework that supports integration across the reader product stack.
Responsibilities- Integration Architecture and Engineering Execution Translate the ecosystem roadmap into engineering plans, integration architectures, and delivery commitments; establish reusable engineering frameworks and reference architectures; incorporate integration considerations into product design from the outset.
- Cross‑Disciplinary Technical Leadership Provide guidance across hardware, firmware, middleware, apps, and cloud services; lead design reviews and trade‑off discussions; maintain knowledge of standards such as ISO 14443/15693, OSDP v2, FIDO2, etc.
- Cross‑Functional Collaboration Collaborate with Product Managers, architects across HID Global Business Areas, and peer Engineering Managers to align roadmaps and integration commitments; represent customer integrator perspective.
- Delivery, Quality, and Compliance Maintain predictable delivery cadence; define and report metrics such as partner certification velocity; ensure deliverables meet quality, security, and compliance standards; define testing and validation strategy.
- Team Establishment and Capability Transfer Recruit, develop, and retain engineers across disciplines; establish team practices and accountability; mentor the team; plan and execute gradual transfer of mature capabilities to business segment teams.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related discipline.
- 10+ years of professional engineering experience across the broader product stack with at least 3+ years managing or leading multi‑disciplinary teams.
- Proven experience building or growing a new engineering team.
- Broad knowledge of the RFID identification ecosystem (readers, credentials, mobile, middleware, data services).
- Experience in system or solution architecture for smartcard, NFC, or RFID technologies.
- Strong understanding of industry standards and HID Credentials portfolio.
- Hands‑on familiarity with contemporary credentialing ecosystems.
- Track record of defining reference architectures adopted by other teams or partners.
