At Cumming Group, we're delivering some of the UK's most complex and high-profile infrastructure programmes. As our project portfolio continues to grow, we're looking for an experienced Senior Planner to join our expanding Infrastructure team.
This is an opportunity to play a key role in major projects from early-stage development through to delivery, working alongside industry-leading clients, project teams, and stakeholders to ensure successful project outcomes.
What You'll Be DoingAs a Senior Planner, you'll be responsible for developing, managing, and analysing project programmes across a diverse range of infrastructure projects. You'll work closely with project teams and clients to provide planning expertise, identify risks and opportunities, and support informed decision-making throughout the project lifecycle.
Key responsibilities include:
- Developing and managing detailed project programmes
- Analysing critical paths, milestones, progress, and programme performance
- Supporting project controls, risk management, change control, and stakeholder engagement activities
- Reviewing contractor programmes and providing programme assurance
- Supporting tender evaluations and contractor selection processes
- Assessing programme impacts, compensation events, claims, and contractual entitlements
- Facilitating planning workshops and collaborating with multidisciplinary project teams
- Producing high-quality reports and presenting programme updates to key stakeholders
- Mentoring and supporting junior team members where required
We're interested in speaking with planners who can combine strong technical planning expertise with excellent stakeholder management skills.
You’ll ideally have:
- 5+ years' experience in project planning within construction or infrastructure
- Strong experience using Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, or ASTA Power project
- Experience working across major infrastructure or complex construction projects
- Knowledge of NEC, JCT, and/or FIDIC contracts
- Excellent communication and client-facing skills
- MAPM, MRICS, or equivalent professional membership (or working towards)
