Role Description
This is an exciting opportunity to join our Transport Planning team as a Senior or Consultant Level Transport Planner within our growing Wales and South West regional team. You will support a varied Local Authority portfolio, gaining strong exposure to project delivery, technical input, client engagement, pursuits, bid support and account management. The role spans transport strategy, active travel, business case development, public transport, movement and access, and place-based mobility projects that deliver sustainable and practical outcomes for communities.
Projects range from early strategy and feasibility through to appraisal, design development, consultation and delivery. In Wales, you will work closely with clients such as Swansea Council and Neath Port Talbot Council. In the South West, you may support commissions with Cornwall Council, Bristol City Council and a wider mix of Local Authorities, regional transport bodies and public sector partners.
The work is shaped by Welsh and UK Government policy, Regional Transport Plans, decarbonisation, active travel, public transport and placemaking priorities, with opportunities to support established accounts and develop new client relationships across the region.
You will work alongside colleagues across Arcadis services, including Highways, Project Management, Cost Management, Rail, Environment, Architecture and Landscape Design. Transport planning often helps unlock opportunities for other disciplines, allowing our advice to shape wider outcomes for regeneration, housing, climate resilience and community‑focused infrastructure.
