Universal Search Group International are looking to speak with Mechanical, Electrical & Instrumentation & Control Field engineers in South Wales.
The OpportunityWe are recruiting a number of experienced Mechanical, Electrical and Instrumentation & Control (I&C) Engineers to support the delivery of major water and wastewater infrastructure projects across South Wales.
These positions form part of a significant capital investment programme delivering new build, upgrade and refurbishment projects across municipal and industrial treatment facilities. Engineers will be involved throughout the project lifecycle, supporting design, installation, commissioning and optimisation of critical treatment assets.
We are looking to speak with highly experienced engineering professionals who have spent 10+ years working within the UK water industry, particularly on wastewater treatment, sludge treatment and anaerobic digestion facilities.

Depending on your engineering discipline, responsibilities may include:
- Supporting the delivery of water and wastewater treatment projects from design through to commissioning.
- Providing technical engineering expertise across mechanical, electrical or control systems.
- Reviewing engineering drawings, specifications and technical documentation.
- Supporting installation, testing and commissioning of plant and equipment.
- Working alongside multidisciplinary engineering teams to deliver integrated MEICA solutions.
- Carrying out site inspections, technical assessments and engineering reviews.
- Supporting equipment selection and technical evaluations.
- Assisting with commissioning, performance testing and fault finding.
- Participating in HAZOPs, design reviews and technical workshops.
- Ensuring compliance with UK Water Industry standards, health & safety legislation and environmental regulations.
- Liaising with contractors, suppliers and project stakeholders throughout project delivery.
- Minimum 10 years' experience within the UK water sector.
- Extensive experience delivering projects within municipal and industrial water & wastewater treatment.
- Strong understanding of Anaerobic Digestion (AD) and sludge treatment facilities.
- Proven experience working on capital projects, plant upgrades and process improvement programmes.
- Experience working within multidisciplinary MEICA project teams.
- Strong knowledge of UK Water Industry standards and engineering best practice.
- Experience supporting construction and commissioning activities.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Degree or HNC/HND in Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation & Control or a related Engineering discipline.
- Chartered status (or working towards) is desirable.
- Relevant professional memberships would be advantageous.
