Are you ready to take the next step in your Transport Planning career?
We're looking for a Transport Planner to join our growing Cardiff team, offering the opportunity to work on a diverse portfolio of projects that make a real difference to the communities they serve.
Whether it's delivering sustainable residential developments, supporting education and healthcare projects, or contributing to major regeneration and infrastructure schemes, you'll play an important role in helping clients unlock development opportunities across Wales and the wider UK.
If you're looking for a role that offers variety, responsibility and genuine career progression, this could be the perfect next move.
Why Join Our Cardiff Team?
Our Cardiff office combines the friendly, collaborative feel of a close-knit team with the opportunities and resources of a well-established national consultancy.
You'll work alongside experienced Transport Planners, Civil Engineers, Structural Engineers and Geo-Environmental specialists on multidisciplinary projects from concept through to planning approval. It's an environment where collaboration comes naturally, ideas are welcomed and everyone is encouraged to contribute.
With a strong pipeline of work across South Wales, the South West and further afield, you'll gain exposure to a broad range of projects, clients and technical challenges that will continue to develop your skills and experience.
Whether your ambition is to become a technical specialist, develop client relationships or progress towards chartership, we'll support you every step of the way.
The Opportunity
As a Transport Planner, you'll play a key role in delivering projects that support sustainable growth and successful planning outcomes.
Working closely with clients, architects, planning consultants and local authorities, you'll help develop transport solutions that are practical, innovative and aligned with national and local planning policy.
Your responsibilities will include:
· Preparing Transport Assessments, Travel Plans, Delivery and Servicing Plans and transport chapters of Environmental Statements.
· Advising on transport strategies, accessibility and sustainable travel.
· Supporting site appraisals and helping shape planning strategies.
· Working collaboratively with our in-house engineering teams to influence site layouts and highway design.
· Building strong relationships with clients and project stakeholders.
· Managing your own workload while contributing to larger multidisciplinary projects.
As you develop, you'll have the opportunity to take ownership of projects, mentor junior colleagues and represent the business at networking and industry events.
About You
We're looking for someone who's passionate about Transport Planning, enjoys solving problems and wants to be part of a collaborative team delivering high-quality work.
You'll ideally have:
· A relevant degree or equivalent qualification.
· Around 2-3 years' experience within a Transport Planning consultancy.
· Experience preparing Transport Assessments, Travel Plans and other planning-related reports.
· A good understanding of UK transport planning policy and guidance.
· Strong communication and report-writing skills.
· The ability to manage multiple projects and work effectively within multidisciplinary teams.
Experience with AutoCAD, vehicle tracking, preliminary highway design or junction modelling software would be advantageous, but it's not essential.
We're also keen to hear from ambitious graduates with relevant industry experience and/or a Transport Planning-related Master's degree who are looking to build their career in a supportive environment.
What You'll Get
Alongside a competitive salary, you'll benefit from:
· Industry-leading employee benefits, including access to five-star holiday lodges.
· Award-winning learning and development programmes.
· Structured support towards professional development and chartership.
· A collaborative, employee-owned culture where your contribution is recognised and valued.
· The opportunity to work on a wide variety of technically interesting projects across Wales and the UK.
