BMS Engineer

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Freelance BMS Engineer to join an established M&E contractor on a major commercial projects in Cardiff.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the installation, commissioning, testing and fault-finding of Building Management Systems (BMS), working closely with the M&E project team and other specialist subcontractors.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced BMS Engineer looking for a long-term freelance assignment with an established contractor.

Key Responsibilities

* Installation, commissioning and testing of BMS control systems.

* BMS panel and controls installation.

* Carrying out point-to-point testing.

* Fault finding and diagnostics.

* Programming and modifying BMS systems where required.

* Integration of mechanical plant and HVAC equipment into the BMS.

* Trend logging and system optimisation.

* Reading and interpreting electrical, mechanical and BMS drawings.

* Working alongside mechanical and electrical engineers.

* Liaising with the Site Manager, Project Manager and commissioning team.

* Producing commissioning records and test documentation.

* Identifying defects and ensuring systems are operating correctly prior to handover.

* Supporting final commissioning and client demonstrations.

Experience Required

* Proven experience as a BMS Engineer / BMS Commissioning Engineer.

* Strong commercial building-services experience.

* Experience working on large M&E projects.

* Good understanding of HVAC controls and mechanical plant.

* Ability to read BMS schematics, control drawings and M&E drawings.

* Experience with commissioning and fault finding.

* Good understanding of HVAC control strategies.

* Comfortable working independently on site.

* Good communication and reporting skills.
