Working as part of an established planning team, you will play a key role in developing, maintaining and monitoring project programmes, supporting successful project delivery from tender stage through to completion. This role is ideal for an experienced planner looking to take ownership of complex projects while developing towards a Principal Planner position.
Key Responsibilities
* Develop and maintain detailed project programmes using Primavera P6.
* Produce integrated programmes covering design, procurement and construction activities.
* Monitor project progress and update programmes to reflect current performance.
* Identify programme risks, critical path activities and opportunities for improvement.
* Prepare programme reports, including progress updates, look-ahead schedules and earned value analysis.
* Support project teams in developing recovery programmes where required.
* Work closely with Project Managers, Site Managers and commercial teams to ensure programmes accurately reflect project delivery.
* Assist with planning during tender and pre-construction phases.
* Participate in programme review meetings with clients and key stakeholders.
* Promote planning best practice and contribute to continuous improvement across the planning function.
About You
You'll be an experienced planner with a strong understanding of rail and civil engineering projects, excellent analytical skills and the ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams.
Essential
* Experience as a Planner or Senior Planner within the rail and civil engineering sector.
* Strong working knowledge of Primavera P6.
* Good understanding of construction methodologies, project sequencing and programme management.
* Experience monitoring project performance and producing programme updates.
* Knowledge of Earned Value Management (EVM) and project controls principles.
* Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
* Previous experience supporting the delivery of complex infrastructure projects.
Desirable
* Experience using Primavera P6 Cloud.
* Knowledge of NEC contracts.
* Previous site-based planning experience.
* Membership of a relevant professional institution or working towards professional accreditation.
* Full UK driving licence.

* Station upgrades and enhancements
* Bridges and structures
* Tunnels
* Earthworks and drainage
* Access for All projects
* Multi-disciplinary rail infrastructure programmes
