At Stantec, our Process Engineering teams are helping clients respond to these challenges across the water cycle, from treatment and asset optimisation to new infrastructure and long-term investment programmes.
We’re looking for a Senior Process Engineer to join our growing teams in Manchester, Warrington, Redditch, Birmingham, Derby, Cardiff, Bristol or Exeter
. You’ll be part of our UK Water business, working alongside experienced process engineers and multidisciplinary specialists across a varied portfolio of clean water and wastewater projects.

ABOUTTHE ROLE
As a Senior Process Engineer, you’ll take responsibility for key areas of process engineering delivery across clean water and wastewater projects, developing practical solutions and supporting projects from concept through to implementation.
You will:
- Develop process engineering solutions across clean water and wastewater treatment and infrastructure projects.
- Undertake and review process calculations, mass balances, hydraulic assessments, treatment evaluations and technical deliverables.
- Take ownership of technical work packages, ensuring quality and delivery to agreed timescales.
- Support process design development from feasibility and concept through to detailed design and construction support.
- Contribute to treatment optimisation, asset improvement, resilience and infrastructure development programmes.
- Support site investigations, performance assessments, testing and other technical investigations.
- Work closely with civil, mechanical, electrical, environmental and hydraulic specialists to develop integrated solutions.
- Engage with clients and project teams to understand requirements and provide practical engineering advice.
- Support and mentor less experienced engineers, sharing knowledge and contributing to technical development.
- Contribute to bids, frameworks, innovation and continuous improvement across the Process Engineering team.
Your work will support the delivery of resilient and sustainable water and wastewater infrastructure across the UK. From improving treatment performance and optimising existing assets to supporting new infrastructure and addressing changing environmental requirements, you’ll help clients tackle some of the sector’s most important challenges.
As a Senior Process Engineer, you’ll have the opportunity to broaden your technical experience, take increasing ownership of projects and develop your leadership skills while contributing to work that delivers meaningful outcomes for clients, communities and the environment.
ABOUT YOU ESSENTIAL- Degree qualified in Chemical or Process Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Experience in process engineering within the water, wastewater or related sectors.
- Practical experience across water or wastewater treatment processes, process design and/or operational optimisation.
- Experience developing process calculations, mass balances, hydraulic assessments and technical deliverables.
- Experience taking ownership of technical tasks or work packages within multidisciplinary projects.
- Good understanding of UK water industry challenges, standards and best practice.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to manage your own workload and contribute effectively within multidisciplinary project teams.
