This is a predominantly remote role, with travel typically less than 15%, offering a rare opportunity to remain at the forefront of major infrastructure projects without being permanently site-based.

Working closely with Project Managers and commissioning teams, you will act as the commissioning subject matter expert, supporting projects from tender stage through to energisation and handover. You'll play a key role in shaping commissioning strategies, developing documentation, supporting project planning activities, and ensuring successful project delivery across multiple projects simultaneously.

Location:

UK (Remote with occasional travel to project sites and Hitachi Energy offices as required)

How You'll Make an Impact
  • Provide commissioning expertise throughout tendering, planning, delivery, and project close-out phases.
  • Develop commissioning strategies, programmes, methodologies, and testing sequences.
  • Support tender reviews, commissioning estimates, resource planning, and project scheduling activities.
  • Review, develop, and approve commissioning procedures, test plans, and technical documentation.
  • Act as the commissioning subject matter expert across multiple projects.
  • Support Factory Acceptance Tests (FATs), commissioning reviews, and customer meetings.
  • Conduct periodic site visits to review progress, identify risks, and provide technical guidance.
  • Work closely with Project Managers to manage commissioning risks, technical issues, claims, and successful project delivery.
  • Review commissioning documentation completed by internal teams and external partners.
  • Support commissioning activities from project award through to energisation and handover.
