Working across a diverse portfolio for major infrastructure clients, including Network Rail and Transport for Wales, you’ll have the opportunity to build your experience, take ownership of projects and progress your career within a supportive and forward-thinking environment.
The Role:
You’ll take responsibility for the commercial management of multiple projects and work packages, typically ranging from £500k to £5m.
Working closely with Project Managers, Site Managers, clients and supply chain partners, you’ll help drive projects from procurement through to final account — ensuring they are commercially successful, contractually compliant and delivered to the highest standards.
What You’ll Be Doing:
* Lead the commercial management of multiple rail and civil engineering projects
* Manage valuations, applications for payment, forecasts and final accounts
* Prepare and monitor CVRs, cost reports and project forecasts
* Manage subcontract procurement, payments and contractual compliance
* Identify and manage change, compensation events, early warnings and commercial risk
* Administer NEC and Network Rail forms of contract
* Work closely with operational teams to monitor cost, progress and performance
* Build strong relationships with clients, subcontractors and key stakeholders
* Lead commercial discussions and negotiate effectively
* Provide commercial insight and challenge throughout the project lifecycle
* Contribute to improving commercial processes, systems and best practice
What We’re Looking For:
You’ll be an experienced Quantity Surveyor / Project Quantity Surveyor with a background in rail, civil engineering or infrastructure.
We’re particularly interested in people who have:
* Experience managing the commercial aspects of civil engineering projects
* A strong understanding of NEC contracts
* Experience working on rail, structures, highways or infrastructure projects
* Excellent commercial and contractual awareness
* Strong negotiation and communication skills
* The ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities
* A proactive, collaborative approach
* A relevant degree, HNC/HND or equivalent qualification
