The OpportunityOur Civil Engineering team thrives on the diversity of our work. Projects undertaken by the team include roads and streets, public realm design, sustainable urban drainage, utilities co-ordination, water and wastewater treatment and energy related projects.
We often play a key role in large-scale multi-disciplinary infrastructure projects. The team is involved in projects throughout the project lifecycle, from initial concept stage through to detailed design and construction, for a wide range of both public and private sector Clients.
Sustainability is at the core of our project delivery, where we focus on making best use of existing assets, delivering high value, low carbon solutions for our clients and end users. This role will include the delivery of projects of a wide variety of scale and complexity in the discipline of Civil Engineering, Roads and Streets and multi-disciplinary infrastructure projects, which can also include Aviation, Rail, Water and Energy projects.
You would:
- Studying Civil Engineering (or a related discipline), and on track for a 2:1 or above
- Learn new skills and deliver high-quality work for a range of Clients; carrying out assessments, analysis and design from initial due diligence stages through to construction.
- Collaborate within wider project and Arup teams and specialists through good communication skills
- Be conscientious in creating a sustainable future for all and Shaping a Better World.
- Open to exploring digital methods and automation to improve and enhance the work we deliver; by such applying measures as machine learning.
Is this role right for you?
For this opportunity, we are seeking the following qualifications, skills and attributes:
- Working towards a bachelor's degree in relevant academic discipline, such as Civil Engineering, Maritime Engineering, Structural Engineering or Architectural Engineering.
- 2D or 3D design software, such as AutoCAD or similar;
Engineering assessment and analysis (e.g. hydraulic modelling, soil mechanics or structural analysis) - Communication and presentation skills.
