We’re looking for a Process Engineer – Wastewater to join our growing teams in Birmingham, Derby, Redditch, Cardiff or Bristol . You’ll work alongside experienced process engineers and multidisciplinary specialists, developing your technical expertise while contributing to a varied portfolio of wastewater projects.

ABOUTTHE ROLE
As a Process Engineer, you’ll support process engineering activities across a range of wastewater projects, working with experienced colleagues to develop practical treatment solutions and deliver high-quality engineering outputs.
You will:
Contribute to process designs, calculations, mass balances and wastewater treatment assessments.
Prepare technical reports, specifications, calculations and design documentation.
Support projects from feasibility and concept development through to detailed design and construction support.
Assist with site investigations, asset assessments, treatment optimisation and technical studies.
Work with multidisciplinary teams to understand project requirements and develop effective engineering solutions.
Build your technical capability through mentoring, training and hands‑on project experience, contributing to continuous improvement.
Your work will help deliver wastewater infrastructure that improves treatment performance, protects the environment and supports more sustainable water services across the UK. By contributing to the development and optimisation of treatment processes, you’ll help clients address environmental challenges and meet the changing demands placed on wastewater assets.
You’ll gain experience across a diverse range of projects, learning from experienced engineers while developing the technical knowledge and project delivery skills needed to take on greater responsibility throughout your career.
ABOUT YOU Essential- Degree qualified in Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering or a related discipline.
- Experience or a genuine interest in developing a career in process engineering within the water sector.
- Understanding of process engineering principles and wastewater treatment.
- Good analytical, technical and problem‑solving skills.
- Ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to organise your workload and meet project deadlines.
- Enthusiasm for learning and developing your technical expertise.
- Chartered or Incorporated Engineer (CEng/IEng), or actively working towards professional registration.
- Membership of a relevant institution, such as CIWEM, IChemE, ICE or IMechE.
- Experience in the water, wastewater, utilities or infrastructure sectors.
- Familiarity with process calculations, mass balances or treatment assessments.
- Experience contributing to technical reports, engineering studies or design work.
- Exposure to site investigations, commissioning or treatment optimisation.
- Interest in sustainability, digital innovation and new approaches to wastewater treatment.
