Accounts Assistant; Hybrid

Accounts Assistant (Accounts Payable) - 6-Month FTC

Location: Chepstow, Monmouthshire
Working Pattern: Hybrid
Salary: £26,000 - £28,000 per year
Hours: Full-time, Monday-Friday

Our client is seeking a detail-oriented Accounts Assistant to join their finance team on a 6-month fixed-term contract
. The role focuses on Accounts Payable and offers a great opportunity for someone with previous finance experience to contribute to a busy team while enjoying hybrid working flexibility.

• Process supplier invoices accurately and promptly

• Match purchase orders, delivery notes, and invoices

• Manage supplier accounts and resolve invoice queries

• Prepare and process weekly/monthly payment runs

• Maintain accurate records in the accounts system

• Reconcile supplier statements

• Assist with month-end accounts payable close

• Ensure compliance with internal financial controls and procedures

• Support the wider finance team with ad-hoc tasks as required

• Previous experience in an Accounts Assistant or Accounts Payable role

• Good working knowledge of accounting software and Excel

• Strong attention to detail and accuracy

• Ability to manage deadlines and prioritise workload

• Good communication skills, both written and verbal

• AAT qualification or working towards one (desirable but not essential)
