Hours:28 hours per week | Normal office hours are 9:00 to 5:00pm with 1 hr. for lunch.
Location: Main base is the Cardiff Office.
Hybrid working, 2 days per week in Cardiff office.

Purpose of the postWe are seeking an experienced and proactive Finance & Resource Officer
to join our dynamic Resources team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in charity finance, with at least 5 years’ experience
, including the last 3 years within a UK-based charity
with an annual turnover of over £1 million . You will play a key role in ensuring the effective and efficient operation of the finance function, supporting the Head of Resources
and contributing to the overall success of the organisation.
This is an exciting opportunity for someone with a keen eye for detail, excellent digital skills, and a passion for efficiency and process improvement, including the use of AI in business operations.
The ideal candidate will:

Finance
- Maintain and manage the Purchase Ledger
, ensuring timely processing and payment of supplier invoices. - Oversee the Sales Ledger
, including raising invoices and credit control. - Reconcile credit card
statements and ensure all supporting documentation is collected and coded correctly. - Maintain and reconcile aged debtors and aged creditors
reports, proactively resolving outstanding balances. - Prepare and post accruals and prepayments
journals as part of the quarter-end process. - Maintain the fixed asset register
, ensuring correct depreciation and disposal records. - Accurately process staff and volunteer expenses
, ensuring adherence to organisational policies and HMRC guidelines. - Analysis of the monthly payroll breakdown and allocation of the salary and pension costs to the projects department.
- Support the Head of Resources with quarterly management accounts
preparation and annual audit processes. - Support the Head of Resources with the preparation and update of the annual budget and budget forecast.
- Preparation and update of the organisation financial cash flow.
- Working closely with project teams to track restricted and unrestricted income and expenditure.
- Assist with internal and external audit preparation and ensure the audit deliverable list is complete and accessible.
- Use Sage Line 50
to process and maintain financial records, ensuring accuracy and completeness. - Produce grant cost reports
and monitor expenditure against budgeted allocations, flagging any issues or variances. - Utilise advanced Microsoft Excel
skills to create reports, analyse data, and support financial planning and forecasting. - Assist in developing and implementing financial processes and controls to improve efficiency.
