The post is based in the Finance Division that is within the Resources Directorate.
The Transactional Finance Team provides a high quality, accurate and customer focussed service that includes accounts payable and pay control.
About the jobThe successful candidate will play a key role in the Transactional Finance Team. You will lead in the processing of payroll data and the maintenance of the payroll database for all employees who are employed by the outside bodies for whom we provide a payroll function to in accordance with contractual terms and conditions of service within the agreed timetable.
Assist in the monitoring, analysis and correction of the post pay run data to ensure the accuracy of net pay including payments of benefits, allowances and statutory and non-statutory deductions, including monitoring and submission of all data to government departments and pension fund administrators.
Working with the Pay Control Manager, covering and delegating duties to ensure effective management of workloads and staffing resources within the team to ensure delivery of service excellence across the pay control service.
The Council has adopted hybrid working practices that apply to this role, meaning work can be undertaken in the office, at home or at another suitable location.
What We Are Looking For From YouWe are seeking an enthusiastic, motivated individual who has experience in the payroll administrative environment.
You will be engaging with internal and external stakeholders and have excellent communication and relationship building skills.
