The Reconciliations Team Leader is responsible for managing and safeguarding client funds held in trust for insurer and corporate clients, while providing day‑to‑day leadership to the Reconciliations team. The role combines hands‑on technical oversight of bank and ledger reconciliations with responsibility for team performance, ensuring accurate, timely, and well‑presented financial information is delivered across the claims portfolios managed by Sedgwick. Working closely with internal and external stakeholders, including clients, Operational teams, CRM teams, and Audit partners, the Team Leader acts as a key point of contact and ensures service delivery meets agreed standards and expectations.
The role supports the Client Accounts Manager through people management activities, including coaching, training, workload planning, quality assurance, audit support, and ongoing process and control improvements. As a custodian of trust accounts, the role ensures robust controls, compliance with policies and governance requirements, and prompt investigation and resolution of reconciling differences. The Team Leader leads, motivates, and develops the team, allocates work effectively, manages capacity, meets SLAs, and provides management cover when required, while promoting a strong culture of continuous improvement and accountability.
- People leadership experience – Proven experience managing and developing a team, with accountability for performance, quality, and delivery.
- Reconciliation and finance expertise – Strong technical background in bank and ledger reconciliations within a client funds or trust environment.
- Client fund protection and controls – Clear understanding of safeguarding client money, governance requirements, and audit readiness.
- Stakeholder and client management – Ability to act as a key point of contact for clients, auditors, and internal teams.
- Analytical problem‑solving – Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify, investigate, and resolve reconciling differences.
- Planning and prioritisation – Experience managing workloads, meeting deadlines and SLAs, and balancing team capacity.
- Continuous improvement mindset – Demonstrated ability to improve processes, controls, and ways of working.
