Job PurposeTo support the Transport Programme & Budget team in the monitoring, administration, and reporting of financial activity relating to enforcement services, parking revenue, transport, highways, and associated capital accounts. The role ensures accurate financial processing, effective budget monitoring, and compliance with Council financial procedures.
Key ResponsibilitiesFinancial Monitoring & Reporting
- Monitor revenue and expenditure activities within enforcement, parking, transport, and highways services.
- Assist in the preparation of financial information for annual reports and other reporting requirements.
- Support reconciliation of financial accounts, including income and expenditure records.
- Follow established processes for financial reporting, including civil parking refunds and income reconciliation.
Financial Processing & Administration
- Raise purchase orders and process external invoices and payments in line with Council procedures.
- Maintain accurate financial records using Council financial systems (e.g., SAP or equivalent).
- Ensure financial transactions are processed accurately, efficiently, and in compliance with regulations.
- Provide general administrative support to the Finance team within the Transport Programme & Budget section.
Data & Information Management
- Maintain and manage financial and administrative data storage systems.
- Ensure data is accurately recorded, stored securely, and easily retrievable for reporting and audit purposes.
- Respond to requests for financial information from internal teams and stakeholders.
Service Support
- Support the delivery of an effective and high-quality service within the Transport Programme & Budget team.
- Provide advice and support on Council financial procedures and systems where required.
- Contribute to improving processes and ensuring best practice is followed.

Essential Requirements
- Numerate and literate to GCSE level or equivalent.
- Experience in financial monitoring or administrative finance work.
- Experience using financial systems (SAP desirable).
- Strong ICT skills and ability to work with financial data.
- Ability to follow procedures and work with accuracy and attention to detail.
- Good communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to prioritise, organise, and manage multiple tasks.
