London or Cardiff – £53,000 to £57,000 per year plus incentive awards tied to performance and benefits.

About the Team

The Financial Control Team is a six-accountant core within the Finance collective. We ensure accurate month‑end reporting, support cross‑functional teams, and maintain the integrity of our financial systems.

Role Overview

We are looking for a proactive, enthusiastic, commercially‑minded accountant to work on our financial accounting and help build a world‑class finance function. A newly qualified accountant with an audit background would be an ideal fit.

Responsibilities

• Lead the month‑end close process, including leases, accruals, inventory and group consolidation.
• Write management commentary on the business and our products.
• Collaborate with engineers and data teams to automate reporting and reduce manual effort.
• Leverage our accounting systems fully to minimise manual reporting elements.
• Learn SQL to run reports and propose process improvements.
• Maintain and develop controls to protect financial data and support balance sheet substantiation.
• Support year‑end processes with external auditors and the Financial Reporting squad.
• Review new products, assess accounting implications and implement them in our banking platform.
• Assess impact of accounting standard changes and propose policy updates for new products.
• Help maintain the integrity of the chart of accounts and static financial data.

Qualifications

• Newly qualified accountant.
• Audit experience preferred.
• Commercial mindset and proactive attitude.
