We are looking for Heat Site Regulation Lead who would like to help us reach our mission to "earn customer loyalty and drive business growth by providing consistently excellent service".

Purpose of this role

To manage Metropolitan's day-to-day heat network regulatory compliance, reporting and monitoring, ensuring current requirements are met and future changes are planned for. The role will lead Ofgem registration, regulatory reporting, compliance monitoring, and readiness for future requirements such as HNTAS.

Your key responsibilities are
  • Reporting to the Head of Heat Asset Management, you will play a key role in managing Metropolitan's day-to-day heat network registration obligations. You will work closely with Regulation, Asset, Engineering, Operations, Retail, Business Intelligence, and project teams to ensure Metropolitan has the right controls, reporting methods and evidence in place to meet current requirements and prepare for future registration change.
  • Owning Metropolitan's day-to-day registration position for heat networks, ensuring all in-scope networks remain compliant and that emerging gaps or risks are identified.
  • Leading Metropolitan's site registration activity, ensuring network and organisational information is accurate, complete, and maintained through Ofgem's digital registration service.
  • Working with Engineering, Asset, Operations, Retail and project teams to ensure data required for reporting and registration is available, accurate, and auditable.
  • Preparing Metropolitan for HNTAS, including readiness reviews, gap analysis, evidence planning and monitoring requirements ahead of the planned launch.
  • Keeping up to date with reporting changes and translating them into practical actions, guidance and process improvements.
  • Any other duties as required by the manager.
Qualifications
  • Degree-level education or equivalent experience in a relevant field.
Experience/Knowledge
  • Experience working with data and producing structured reporting.
  • Experience working collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders.
Abilities/Skills
  • Strong organisational skills with attention to detail.
  • Strong analytical and reporting capability.
  • Confident using Excel and/or reporting tools such as Power BI.
  • Ability to translate requirements into practical processes and outputs.
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to build effective working relationships.
Desirable
  • Experience in the heat networks or wider utilities sector.
  • Understanding of metering and billing requirements.
  • Awareness of upcoming regulation such as HNTAS.
  • Experience using SharePoint or similar tools for tracking and reporting.
  • Ability to improve or develop reporting and monitoring processes.
