Job Description & How to Apply Below
Position: FP&A Manager (Insurance Forecasting and Analysis)

We are looking for an experienced and ambitious Finance Manager to join the UK Insurance FP&A team.

This is a high-profile technical finance role, leading the forecasting, analysis and interpretation of financial performance across the UK insurance businesses. The successful candidate will help the business understand current and future performance by translating complex insurance results into clear commercial insight for Finance, Product and Executive stakeholders.

The role sits within the UK FP&A team, which acts as a centre of expertise for insurance forecasting, IFRS 17 results analysis and scenario modelling. It will lead the development of robust forecasts, challenge key assumptions, drive continuous improvement and provide expert financial support to strategic initiatives and governance processes.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who combines strong technical insurance finance knowledge with commercial awareness, analytical curiosity and the confidence to influence senior stakeholders.

What You’ll Be Doing

You will lead a small team and be responsible for:

  • Leading UK insurance forecasting and scenario modelling processes, producing robust financial planning projections.
  • Acting as a subject matter expert on insurance and reinsurance results, translating complex financial and insurance concepts into clear, meaningful insight for finance and non-finance audiences.
  • Owning the analysis and interpretation of the IFRS 17 insurance result across UK Insurance, explaining performance movements, emerging trends and the drivers of financial outcomes.
  • Producing executive-level commentary and presentations for senior leadership, governance forums and Board audiences.
  • Working closely with Risk, Capital and Actuarial colleagues to ensure financial plans and analysis are aligned, credible and well understood.
  • Leading financial analysis to support ORSA, broader capital planning and stress-testing activity.
  • Identifying opportunities to improve efficiency, automation and the quality of reporting.
About You

We’re looking for someone who can operate as an independent technical expert while building strong stakeholder relationships across the organisation. You’ll be comfortable taking ownership of complex processes, working through ambiguity and providing credible challenge to senior stakeholders. You’ll enjoy understanding how the insurance business operates and turning complex information into insight that supports better decisions.

Essential Experience & Skills
  • Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA).
  • Significant post-qualification experience in finance, FP&A, insurance finance or actuarial-related analysis.
  • Strong understanding of insurance financial performance and key insurance value drivers.
  • Experience of financial forecasting, planning and scenario modelling.
  • Proven ability to operate independently and take ownership of complex technical processes.
  • Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills.
  • Advanced Excel and financial modelling skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Desirable Skills & Experience
  • Strong understanding of IFRS 17 and how insurance performance translates into reported financial results.
  • Experience supporting capital forecasting and stress-testing.
  • Experience leading or developing teams.

Please note - we may close this vacancy early if we receive lots of applications or business priorities change.
