Financial Crime Executive Remote | £26,000 per annum | 6-month FTC (with the possibility of a permanent opportunity)

Help protect our business, our clients and our customers — and build a career in a fast‑paced, high‑impact environment.

Are you naturally curious, analytical and great at spotting what others might miss? We’re looking for a Financial Crime Executive to join our Financial Crime Operations Team on a 6 month Fixed Term Contract with the possibility of a permanent opportunity.

In this role, you’ll help deliver robust financial crime prevention systems and controls across all areas of the business and its products. You’ll proactively support colleagues, work with multiple clients, and help deliver proportionate, accurate and effective financial crime services in a fast‑paced environment. You’ll also support customer onboarding activity, making sure CDD, KYC, fraud and EDD requirements are completed accurately, efficiently and in line with regulatory and internal policy requirements.

What you’ll be doing

No two days look the same. You’ll get involved in a wide range of activities, including:

  • Monitoring transactions, high‑risk payments, sanctions alerts, PEP hits and adverse media
  • Investigating alerts from transaction monitoring systems, documenting outcomes clearly and maintaining accurate records and audit trails
  • Supporting customer onboarding, including CDD, KYC, fraud risk management and EDD checks
  • Assessing customer risk, verifying identity, reviewing source of funds and helping customers onboard smoothly within agreed service levels
  • Having insightful conversations over the phone to gather source‑of‑funds information
  • Responding to fraud allegations and other financial crime concerns in a timely and appropriate way
  • Building strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to support prevention, detection and accurate recording of financial crime matters
  • Producing and analysing clear, accurate management information to support clients and internal teams
  • Supporting financial crime awareness and helping embed a compliant financial crime culture across the business
  • Identifying existing and emerging financial crime risks and suggesting practical controls or improvements
  • Prioritising your workload based on risk and contractual SLAs, while working to internal standards and processes
  • Taking on additional projects and work streams with support from the Financial Crime Manager
What it’s like to work in the team

The Financial Crime Operations Team sits within Group Risk and delivers first line of defence activity on behalf of Target Group. You’ll join a small, busy and inclusive team that genuinely supports one another.

  • Collaborative and welcoming — you’ll always have someone to turn to
  • Fast‑paced and focused — we work hard but keep things fun
  • Curious and knowledgeable — you’ll learn quickly from experienced colleagues
  • Supportive of your growth — training, peer coaching and regular 1‑2‑1s are the norm

You’ll get involved in varied and interesting work across a broad range of clients, while being fully supported with training, peer coaching and access to welcoming colleagues who are keen to help you develop. We celebrate great work through our My Recognition portal, maintain open access to leaders, and encourage you to bring your whole self to work.
