Job Description & How to Apply Below

North Co Recruitment are working with a leading UK insurer to appoint a Principal Pricing Analyst into their personal lines pricing function. You’ll own a product’s commercial performance in a high-visibility area of the business, backed by serious investment in pricing and with your own direct report - exactly the kind of role that takes your career profile to the next level.

What

you’ll do
  • Own the pricing performance of a product or strategic initiative, with accountability for growth, profitability and customer value.
  • Shape market pricing strategy using customer behaviour, demand, competitor and financial insight, rather than executing decisions handed down to you.
  • Lead complex pricing initiatives end to end, from initial concept through implementation and ongoing optimisation.
  • Build and refine market pricing models, and act as the critical reviewer of the risk models that feed into them.
  • Present evidence-based recommendations to senior stakeholders and influence the commercial decisions that follow.
  • Line manage and coach analysts, setting the technical standard for the wider team.
What we’re looking for
  • Experience in insurance, with a track record of developing market pricing models.
  • The technical depth to interpret, review and challenge risk models with confidence.
  • Desire to own pricing performance for a product or business area and turning analysis into commercial outcomes.
  • Some experience coaching or mentoring others, with the appetite to take on formal line management.
  • Strong experience working with Radar, Emblem or other industry standard tools.
  • Python or R skills, underpinned by a solid grasp of statistical modelling.
  • A numerate degree, ideally a 2:1 or above in a mathematics-related subject.
  • The communication skills to make complex analysis land with technical and non-technical audiences alike.
  • Hybrid working applies, with a mix of home and office-based collaboration.

If you’re looking for a Principal role with genuine product ownership, your first step into line management and a clear route towards Pricing Manager, we’d be keen to speak.
