Salary: £40,000 – £50,000 + Benefits

The Opportunity

A well-established and respected planning and design consultancy is seeking an experienced Senior Town Planner to join its expanding team in either Cardiff or Bristol.

The successful candidate will take a lead role in delivering a range of high-profile development and regeneration projects, helping to create sustainable and well-designed places across the region.

Key Responsibilities

Manage a diverse portfolio of planning projects from early feasibility to submission and determination
Prepare planning applications, assessments, appeals, and policy representations
Conduct site appraisals, research, and planning strategy work
Provide high-quality planning advice to clients, partners, and stakeholders
Engage with local authorities, community groups, and statutory consultees
Mentor and support junior planners within the team
Assist with business development, proposal writing, and client relationship management

Candidate Requirements

MRTPI qualified or working towards full chartered status
Strong understanding of UK planning legislation and local planning policy
Demonstrated experience in either planning consultancy or local authority planning
Excellent communication, report writing, and client-facing skills
Ability to manage projects independently while contributing effectively to a team
Organised, proactive, and commercially minded
