An opportunity is available within the Council’s Performance and Partnerships Team for a Research Assistant who is interested in supporting the Council’s consultation and engagement agenda.
The role will be in the Cardiff Research and Engagement Centre, which is made up of consultation and engagement specialists and is responsible for understanding and disseminating the views of stakeholders on a broad range of issues.
The work of the team is closely aligned to the strategic priorities of the organisation and our public service partners, and will work closely with all Council services areas to help them understand the views of citizens.
About the jobYou will be part of a highly motivated, dedicated, and supportive team, with a commitment to delivering high-quality work and supporting public service delivery.
The role will be responsible for enhancing the Council’s engagement programme, as set out in its Participation Strategy, working with groups across the city to promote, and encourage participation in, consultation and engagement projects, looking to boost participation, particularly in under-represented groups.
There will be ample opportunity for personal and professional development, including training relevant to the role.
The role is community-based, and will require occasional evening or weekend work. There will be a requirement to visit the office occasionally for meetings.
What We Are Looking For From YouWe are looking for an individual with extensive experience of face-to-face engagement projects and a demonstrable ability to undertake robust primary research.
You will be comfortable approaching people in community settings, and working with a wide range of community groups.
A good level of ICT competency will be advantageous.
Most importantly, we encourage applications from individuals who are passionate about public service improvement and enjoy working as part of an effective team.
Additional informationThis post is temporary until the end of June 2028.
This post is part time and will work 18.5 hours per week.
