Dedicated Prevention Officers based at Rise will provide assistance under the Council's corporate duty to help clients who are homeless or under threat of becoming homeless. The service provides assistance to often vulnerable people when they are at greatest need.
About the job- Prevention Officer (VAWDASV) will make decision on whether a homeless duty is accepted and communicate to the provider the same day.
- The post holder will case manage and coordinate a range of support measures for each victim in conjunction with specialist support provider
- The post holder will attend weekly MARAC meetings to represent the Council’s Housing Services
- The post holder will review risk assessments and update where necessary
- The post holder will refer to specialist support in the event emergency, temporary accommodation is required
- The post holder will attend multi-disciplinary meetings in relation to the pathway and any safeguarding processes relevant to the cases the post holder is supporting.
The post holder will need to have; team-working skills, the ability to produce innovative solutions and be forward-thinking to help develop the service. The post holder will be required to provide excellent outcomes for vulnerable clients and high-quality customer service.
Experience of homeless legislation and working with the public will be an advantage. You may be required to work until 19:00 hours to meet the demands of a very busy service.

Requests may only be approved by the relevant Director/ Assistant Director/ Chief Officer or senior nominated officer graded no lower than OM2 or in the case of schools based staff the Headteacher / Governing Body.
