Position: CLAMPING & ENFORCEMENT OFFICER

Clamping&Enforcementofficerhasbecomeavailablewithin theCivil Parking Enforcement  Team.

Theroleis based in Cardiff Bay and undertakes the maintenance ofparkingmachines, clamping/unclamping of vehicles,removalof untaxed vehicles,and enforcement of parking offences across Cardiff.

Operating Mondayto Friday , theteamundertakespatrols across the city identifying and clamping untaxed vehicles, maintaining theparkingmachines for on andoff-street parking, and ensuring the safe movement of traffic on the highway by issuing Penalty Charge Notices to vehicles parked in contravention of parking restrictions.

About the job

The post holder will be responsible for:

  • The clamping and subsequent removal of untaxed vehicles on the public highway
  • The removal of vehicles which are persistent evaders or parking dangerously
  • Patrolling areas where on-street and off-street parking is in operation across the city
  • Maintenance and repair of parking machines
  • Identifying instances of parking in contravention and issuing Penalty Charge Notices
  • Ensuring the upkeep of appropriate record in accordance with the legislation and operating practices within the Enforcement Officer Manual and Safe Systems of Work.
  • Liaising with other teams within the enforcement group as appropriate to ensure effective delivery of the enforcement operation
  • Contributing to best value by working in an efficient, effective, and economic way , and to suggest and implement ways of working whenever possible.
What We Are Looking For From You

A full valid driving licence is required, in addition to successfully achieving the City & Guilds Civil Enforcement Officer qualification within the first year of employment.

Additional information

This post is full time, and officers will work 37 hours per week.
