Specialist Physiotherapist - Mental Health Services for Older People

We are looking for a dynamic and innovative, experienced physiotherapist with proven rehabilitation clinical skills to join a specialist acute medicine rotation.

You will work alongside members of the multidisciplinary team to assess and deliver physiotherapy to patients who may have acute medicine needs, multi-pathologies and complex social needs. You will be required to have proven problem solving skills for complex discharge planning and flexibility in dealing with changes in service provision. You will need to have good time management, resilience and prioritising skills.
Mainduties of the job
A part-time opportunity has arisen for an experienced and enthusiastic Physiotherapist to join the Mental health Services for Physiotherapy team at University Hospital Llandough.
We are seeking a dynamic and innovative physiotherapist with proven rehabilitation skills to support adults with both functional and organic mental health needs.
The successful candidate will deliver physical health and well-being interventions aligned with our award-winning Rehabilitation Model, supporting sustained recovery across inpatient, outpatient, and community settings.

Person Specification Qualifications- Recognised qualification degree / equivalent in physiotherapy
- HCPC Registration
- Membership of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy (CSP)
- Significant post registration experience in Mental health /MHSOP
- Experience as working as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Experience of working in the NHS as a qualified physiotherapist
- Experience of providing clinical supervision
- Ability to demonstrate specialist skills in the assessment of individuals with enduring mental health conditions
- Able to keep accurate and legible patient records and statistical information
- Proven ability to motivate others, promote coproduction and empower others
- Ability to demonstrate effective decision making skills in relation to complex discharge planning
- Ability to demonstrate enhanced communication skills with individuals living with Dementia
- Demonstrate ability of presentation and training skills
- Demonstrates competent digital and technology skills
- Demonstrates specialist knowledge of Dementia
- Evidence of relevant post graduate training courses
- Experience of participation in emergency weekend and on call duties
- Demonstrate and role model the values of the UHB
- Ability to travel between sites
- The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this role
